Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada and raised in the US. She's worked as a media critic since 1995. Feminist Frequency is a website with video and an online blog on the representation of female characters in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. She is the author and director-general of Feminist Frequency A scholarly, non-profit site that examines the representation of women in pop media narratives. In her efforts to dispel the myths of women that have been portrayed in popular culture, she seeks to bring attention to harassment targeted at women as well as other classes of the Internet space. Sarkeesian who has a Master's in Social and Political Thinking from York University, is a popular public speaking. She has delivered speeches at TEDxWomen XOXO festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Interested in issues concerning gender and feminism since at an early age, she created her own website Feminist Frequency in 2009 while she was still at university. It was a girl who wanted to create an online series that would examine how gender is represented in games. However, she became the victim of online harassment. But the harassment did not hinder her. She was only able to strengthen her position as a feminist journalist. She has won numerous awards for her contribution to the cause of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winner for her work as a journalist. She also serves as the creator and director of Feminist Frequency an educational and non-profit group that focuses on pop-culture depictions of women.
