Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress, who was featured in a variety of films and television series. Her most recognizable role was the one of Kitty Russell, the role she played on Kitty Russell on the TV series 'Gunsmoke.' Additionally it was her first time acting in the television series "The Red Skelton Show', "Tattletales," and "The Edge of Night'. In addition, she was a part of dozens of films like 'Stars In My Crown' Duchess of Idaho", 'Cattle town as well as 'Miss. Robin Crusoe' "About Mrs. Leslie and 'The Adventures Of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' and 'The Boom'. Blake, a former phone operator as well as a passionate animal lover loved animals. She, along with partner Frank Gilbert, was one of the first humans to successfully breed cheetahs in captivity. In addition, the American actor was one of co-founders of Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL). As a member of the board of the Humane Society of the United States Blake is a part of a long history. Blake was elected to the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was also awarded with the Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
