Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on the 6th of September 1964) is an American actress choreographer, dancer and activist. Her breakthrough was with Tina's role in Do the Right Thing (1989), and then White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez was nominated to win the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fearless (1993). Her film credits that have featured her have since included It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) as well as Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her performance in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has also been in Broadway playslike The Ritz and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. Her mother lived in poverty in Woodside Houses by 1999. She died from AIDS-related complications in 1999.
