Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift (born 13 December 1989) is an American singer/songwriter. Her discography includes many genres. Her songwriting, often influenced by her own personal experiences, has earned her praise from critics and numerous media coverage. Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania and relocated to Nashville when she was 14. In 2004 Swift signed a songwriting arrangement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She also signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records. The self-titled debut album she released in 2006 marked Swift as the first female country artist to release an album which was U.S.-certified platinum. Swift's subsequent albums, Fearless (2008), and Speak Now (2010), were a focus on the country genre. The latter's "Love Story," as well as "You Belong with Me," were among the first country songs that made it to the top of both the U.S. Pop and All-Genre charts. She experimented with rock and electronic styles in Red (2012) the album that featured the debut Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, "We Are Never Ever Reuniting Together", and eschewed her country image in her synth-pop album, 1989 (2014), supported by chart-topping tracks "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood". Reputation (2017), with its top-charting track "Look at What You Did to Me" Me Do", was the result of media scrutiny. Exiting Big Machine, Swift signed with Republic Records in 2018 and released her seventh studio album, Lover (2019), followed by the autobiographical film Miss Americana (2020). In her albums for 2020, Folklore, Swift ventured into alternative and indie rock. The singles "Cardigan", "Willow", and "Willow," topped the Hot 100. Swift started recording her first six albums again following an argument with the masters. Two albums were reissued in 2021--Fearless(Taylor’s version) and Red (Taylor’s version). The Red's "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" became the longest track to make it onto the Hot 100. The album she released in 2022, Midnights along with its single "Anti-Hero" have set new records for streaming music that have stood the test of time. Swift has directed music videos as well films such as All Too Well The Short Film (2021), while also playing supporting roles in a variety of other projects. Swift is among the most popular musicians ever, having sold over 200 million albums worldwide. Swift is the most streamed female artist on Spotify and is the only artist with five albums with more than one million copies sold in the US. Her accolades include 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year winners; an Emmy Award; 39 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She also holds 92 Guinness World Records. Swift is featured in a variety of high-profile rankings, such as the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songswriters of All time and Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists. Swift was awarded the Artist of the Decade title and the Woman of the Decade title. Swift's music has been the reason she has inspired the next generation of the field of singer-songwriters.
